Tuesday’s NBA Notes

  • It appears as though DeRon Williams is leaning towards Dallas in the off-season. This could have been hinted at by Dwight Howard‘s reluctance to leave Orlando, but is now being reported with sources coming from close to Williams. I appreciate the anti-LeBrick gestures by both but I wouldn’t have minded seeing them team-up in Brooklyn.
  • The Memphis Grizzlies have signed Gilbert Arenas. They have shown that they aren’t afraid to take risks on character flaw players, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. His impact should be minimal, but he might be able to drop 20 a game or two.
  • The Celtics and Heat are the favorites to sign Ronny Turiaf, according to ESPN.com
  • Sources also say that the Celtics are looking at signing Ryan Hollins.
  • Look for Derek Fisher to sign with a contending team, perhaps San Antonio or Miami. Bandwagoner. UPDATE: Fisher will sign with the Thunder. Bandwagoner.
  • Celtics had a 13-0 run in the 4th quarter to upend the Hawks. Seems like some things don’t change. The Hawks will always crumble.
  • Bulls gave the Magic a depressing loss last night, beating them 85-59 in Orlando. This is a score you’d expect post-Dwight era.
  • Kevin Love dropped 36 and 17 last night in a 4 point win over the Warriors. The win brings the Wolves a game under .500, and is another close loss for the Warriors, who seem to have had many of them this season. Too bad for Mark Jackson. I think his job is secure though.
